welllll… A crochet party is where a bunch of crocheters get together for a specified length of time, usually an evening {this is a weekend crochet party- so it get’s pretty wild… as you can imagine} and:
1. work on a large pattern as a group, all working on a different part of it {think quilting bee}
–OR–
2. everyone makes their own scarf {or shawl or hat or amigurami} from the same pattern.
It’s really cool, either way. I like to go to my sister’s house in Northwestern Michigan for weekend crochet parties. If you follow me on instagram {@indielovely}, you have seen how they go. Feel free to grab the pattern and follow along this weekend on instagram using the hashtag: #shorethingscarf and/or #crochetparty.
I am using:
{top} Red Heart Boutique Treasure in Abstract
and {bottom} Deborah Norville’s super soft everyday in cotton candy….
I’m crazy, but I think I’m gonna finish two, that’s my goal. I’m gonna work on joining the granny square blanket on the drive there, {my mommy is driving} and then put that away and make some scarves with the girls at the crochet party… Then if I don’t finish I have a 3.5 hour car ride to work on it. Sounds feasible. I’m not an over-achiever or anything…
chat soon,
A crochet party sounds like a fantastic idea. I wonder if I could get enough people together to do one…
Sounds like so much fun! Wish I was in Michigan!
This looks so fun! Sadly, I’m working on about 5 gift projects so can’t play along this time, but I can’t wait to see your finished scarves!
